The student will carry out an architectural project independently but under the supervision of a jury. Graduation Project subject and schedule are announced in the first week of the semester. The process is carried out by a jury formed among faculty members. Depending on the number of students, one or more juries may be established. A faculty member is appointed as the Graduation Project Coordinator to ensure coordination between the juries. A total of four jury sessions are held during the semester, including a project meeting, two interim juries and a final jury. Apart from these jury sessions, it is necessary and obligatory for students to continue their work independently without assistance and guidance.

The semester is organized around four stages that will combine various concepts such as NURBS modelling, data-handling and manipulation, form-finding and digital fabrication. To facilitate this outcome, the students will investigate diverse methods and experimental procedures that will involve arithmetic, geometry, design rules, materials, fabrication. The course introduces fundamental elements that form the foundation of various conceptualizations of “The Metaverse”. Topics to be presented and discussed include shared spatialization, digital mediation of reality, socialization, and assigning value to digital objects. The course will devote significant time to discussions of ethics and the impacts that digitization will have on non-digital aspects of society. Students will be required to research and write several essays throughout the course and design a metaverse scenario as a final group project. Online class sessions will frequently take place inside of 2D and 3D “metaverse platforms”. Students will be expected to know how to use their keyboard and mouse/touchpad to navigate these spaces and to use their microphone effectively. This is not a course focused on cryptographic topics. Blockchains, cryptocurrencies, and NFTs will not be the focus of the course, although these subjects will be included in discussions of metaverse economics and concepts of ownership.
