Lower motor neuron diseases, clinical types, differences from upper motor neuron diseases and physiotherapy and rehabilitation methods used in these diseases are discussed and the current literature is reviewed. Neuromuscular diseases, which are defined as hereditary and acquired diseases of the peripheral neuromuscular system and take place in a wide range, are a group of diseases that physiotherapists encounter frequently in the clinic and cause disability of varying severity.
