Graduated from Istanbul University Maritime Transportation And Management Engineering in 2000. He completed his master degree in Product Management and Marketing from Marmara University and he has an MBA degree from Istanbul Technical University. Cem Duran received his Ph.D after completing his thesis in Customer Experience Management from Istanbul Technical University. Dr. Cem Duran participated “Coaching Skills for Manager” certificate program in New York University after working 2 years as Marketing Specialist in Institute of Behavioral Sciences. In 2007, he worked 5 years in IDO (Istanbul Seabus Administration) as Business Development Manager and played an active role on privatization process of the company. In the same period he founded EDDRA, Turkey’s first & only Photo Marketing Agency which later become biggest player in its market. He took active role in many entrepreneur accelerating program’s assessment processes and provided mentorship to entrepreneurs in several projects. In 2014, he started working as Technology Transfer Manager and Deputy General Manager in Yıldız Technical University’s Yıldız Teknopark. During this time he consulted foundation of many Techno Parks and Technology Transfer Offices. From the beginning of 2017 to the end of 2018, he worked as Head of Department in Management Information Systems in İstinye University and founded and managed the university’s Technology Transfer Office at the same time. He was appointed Deputy General Manager of Teknopark İstanbul by 2018. He gives lectures on “Entrepreneurship” and “Strategic Marketing Management” in master programs of İstinye University and Istanbul Commerce University.
Following Üsküdar American Academy, she received her BS degree in Environmental Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1992 and MS and PhD degrees from Bogazici University Institute of Environmental Sciences, Istanbul, Turkey. Her PhD thesis was based on the “Thermodynamic Analysis of Treatment Plants for Producing Energy from Solid Waste” which she conducted in Germany with a joint scholarship from ForschungZentrum Jülich and TUBITAK (National Science Foundation of Turkey).
Defining herself as a pracademic, she has more than 25 years of experience not only in academia but also in private sector working on environment and sector-specific activities in Turkey and Dubai (UAE). She has extensive expertise specifically in Environmental Auditing according to World Bank Standards which is required for international financing especially during company M&As and greenfield projects. Working over the years in projects involving different stakeholder groups with different priorities, she has the proven capacity for establishing a dialogue between such stakeholder groups. Although coming from a technical background, her academic work focuses on involving sustainable development into the strategies of corporations including higher academic institutions and she teaches and leads funded research on sustainability / sustainable development especially focusing on industrial ecology and regional development. Furthermore, she is an editor and board member of the Springer’s ‘Encyclopedia for Sustainability in Higher Education Institutions' and ' Encyclopedia for Sustainable Development Goals'. Dr. Özuyar is also a member of the academic committee in the 'Journal of Sustainability of Higher Education' and 'International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management'.
Dr. Kızıltepe, after graduating from Robert College, completed his undergraduate and teaching education at Boğaziçi University English Language and Literature Department; He completed his master's degree in the Psychology Department of the same university. He worked as an English teacher and manager in various educational institutions for many years. Later, after receiving his doctorate degree from the University of Exeter in the field of Education, in 1996 he transferred to Boğaziçi University's Faculty of Education, first to the Department of Foreign Languages Education, and in 2001 to the Department of Educational Sciences of the same faculty. Dr. He held administrative positions at Kızıltepe, Boğaziçi University such as Advisor to the Rector, Vice Dean and Head of the Department; He served in various boards and commissions of the university. He founded the BÜYEM (Boğaziçi University Lifelong Education Center) Teacher Academy and became the academy's coordinator and at the same time was the coordinator of the university's preschool unit. He worked as the International Relations Office coordinator for a short time. Apart from the university, he provided short and long term academic consultancy at various educational institutions. He retired from Boğaziçi University at the beginning of 2020, but continues to teach part-time in his department and serve as the coordinator at BÜYEM Teachers Academy. Dr. Kızıltepe has various scientific articles and scientific book chapters published in Turkey and abroad (USA, England, Belgium, Holland, India, Japan). In addition, he has a book named "Motivational Issues in Teaching" published abroad by Peter Lang Publishers.
Sebnem Ozdemir received her B.Sc. degree in Mathematics (Yıldız Technical University), as well as the M.A. in Mathematics Education and M.Sc. in Informatics (İstanbul University). She received her Ph.D. degree from İstanbul University (IU), İstanbul Turkey. She was a visiting researcher in Electronics and Computing Engineering Department (Worcester Polytechnic Institute- WPI) for her postdoc research, Worcester, MA, USA. She currently holds the position of Assistant Professor and Head of Department in the Department of Management Information Systems, Istinye University, İstanbul, Turkey. Besides, she works for Massachusetts Institute of Technology Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (MIT CSAIL). With the machine learning based model, she built, Mrs. Ozdemir was received the “Contribution to Human Development Award” by Koc University UNESCO Chair. Earlier this year (2018), she began to integrate a new and closely-related research stream with her students, which is called “Deep Projects,” that involves deep learning algorithms and methodologies. The first of these projects, “Deep Classical Art,” relates to pattern recognition and reproductions, which are hidden in the Anatolian and Ottoman art, such as marbling (Ebru), ornamentation (Tezhip), and tapis. Prior to the aforementioned projects, she used mathematical modelling to predict juvenile crime. Her work with others on a multidisciplinary project team led to the design and implementation of decision support systems that identifies at-risk children. She has many published papers, book chapters and patents related to data science and machine learning. Ozdemir’s research fields are artificial intelligence, data science, management information systems, decision making, mathematical modelling.
Tayfun Utas, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1998 and a master degree in MBA Turkish program at Istanbul University in 1994 and then he completed his master degree in Social Science Institute Faculty of Management Department of Production Management in Istanbul University with the dissertation of ‘’ "Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in Lean Manufacturing and an Application" and with the dissertation of ‘’ 'Within the Scope of Hybrid Business Features Theory of Business Motivation of Blue-collars' he graduated from department of Business doctorate programme in 2016. Tayfun Utas has implemented projects on Toyota Production and Lean Manufacturing systems throughout his business life. He conducted a series of activities and has performed the leadership and application of many projects about Production Compund Systems. About Total Productive Management( TPM), he takes possession of the certificate "JIPM Instructor" certificate issued by JIPM Japan Enstitute Plant Maintenance organization. After these studies, he gained the reward ‘’World TPM’’. He trained Lean Sigma applications in Chamber of Mechanical Engineering, Istanbul Chamber of Industry and various companies and he lectured about TPM and Lean Sigma. With Istanbul Chamber of Industry, he wrote manuals with co-workers about TPM and 5S for SMEs. Tayfun Utas who has a Six Sigma Black Belt certificate, as of 2012, has directed many projects. Tayfun Utas who started his business life in 1988 as a chief of production in a private Corporation, he worked as a manager in different units of private corporations between 1991-2017. Tayfun Utas works as an Operations Director in an international private company.
Esra Bayhantopçu completed joint international PhD study program and graduated from Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University, Political Science Department and Galatasaray University, Media and Communication Studies Department in 2017. While she was doing her PhD research at Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University, she stayed at Paris between 2014-2016 with the support of Tübitak International PhD Fellowship Program and wrote her doctoral thesis on the subject of ‘marriage of underage girls problem in Turkey and its media discourse analysis on Turkish print and social media’. In the spring semester of 2018, she gave lectures at Bahçeşehir University Master Programme as a visiting lecturer. Aside from her academic life, she has been working in professional business life since 2005. İbrahim Elbaşı received a b achelor s degree in business administration both from Istanbul Technical University and State University of New York at New Paltz by participating International Dual Diploma Program and a master s degree in Strategy Science (Science and Technology Strategi es) from Gebze Institute of High Technology. After that, he continued his PhD. His interests are focused on strategic management, organization theory, innovation and entrepreneurship. Until he became founder, managing director of BTM Commercialization Ce nter of Istanbul (BTM Foundation) multi functional startup center, he worked in PricewaterhouseCoopers and Istanbul Commerce University. He also managed many national and international entrepreneurship projects.
Born in Ankara on May 16, 1954, O. Can Ünver graduated from TED Ankara College in 1972. He is a graduate of Ludwig Maximilian University (Political Science, Communication and Turcology)) with the title of Magister Artium (1981). Ünver received his PhD in 2003 from Hacettepe University’s, Institute of History of Atatürk's Principles and Reforms, with his thesis "The Place of Orientalism in Germany's Policies on Turkey - 19th-20th Centuries". Between 1979 and 2007, he worked as Attaché for Labour and Social Security at the Turkish Consulates in Munich, Nuremberg and Hamburg and as Counsellor for Labour and Social Security at the Turkish Embassy in Berlin. 1991 he was appointed as the Consultant on Affairs of Turkish Citizens Abroad at the Prime Ministry and 1998 as a Consultant to the Secretary-General at the Secretariat General of the National Security Council. He also served as Head of Department and Deputy Director-General and Director-General in the Ministry’s General Directorate for Foreign Relations and Services To Workers Abroad. He retired from public service in October 2007.From 2008 on, he delivered lectures at various universities in Ankara (Hacettepe, Başkent, Ufuk, National Defense Universities) as a part-time lecturer and has actively participated in many conferences and scientific events at home and abroad. In addition, he worked as a coordinator or trainer in EU projects. Ünver received the title of associate professor in "Political Life and Institutions" in 2016. In May 2018, he was appointed the founding Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul Ayvansaray University. He continues his academic career at Istinye University, Department of International Relations (Eng.) since November 2020.In 2015, he was elected as a member of the United Nations Migrant Workers Committee (CMW), affiliated to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), for four years by the member states. His mandate was renewed by the UN State Parties’ CMW members election in June 2019 for further four years. He was then elected as the Chairman of the Committee in September 2019.
