A Day of Science and Innovation at Istinye University with Healthineering

Healthineering and Graduation Projects Poster Event Successfully Held 

İstinye University brought together students, academics, and industry representatives through the Healthineering 2 and Faculty of Engineering Graduation Projects Poster Exhibition. Highlighting science and innovation, the event was successfully organized under the leadership of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and coordinated by the IEEE İstinye University Student Branch.

Academia and Industry Came Together


Among the participants were Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hatice Gulen and Prof. Dr. Bestami Özkaya; Director of the ISU Connectom Entrepreneurship and Incubation Center Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okan Yaşar; Prof. Dr. Mehmet Alper Tunga; Dr. Lecturer Şeyma Karakuş Bozkurt; Orhan Mutlu Topal; Burak Minaz; Ali Emre Pekmez; Kağan Dikmen; Ahmet Selim Coşar; Güneş Yavuz; Oğuz Can Işık; Ali Murat Arıkusu; and Ahmet Nizam. Contributions from organizations such as Bilişim Vadisi, Siemens Healthineers, FİGES A.Ş., MATLAB@UCL, fonbulucu.com, Moltek, Beebird, and KIWI Technologies—who support student entrepreneurship—added significant value to the event.

Assistant Prof. Fevzi Aytaç Durmaz from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences shared his thoughts following the event:

With such events that strengthen collaboration between academia and industry, we will continue to support our students' abilities to think innovatively, create, and share.”

Over 50 Projects Exhibited


More than 50 projects—ranging from health technologies to artificial intelligence applications, biomaterials to electronic systems—were presented in poster and prototype formats. Prepared from an interdisciplinary perspective, the projects attracted significant attention from jury members and visitors alike.

“Cardiac Vessel Segmentation” Wins First Prize in Healthineering Competition


As part of the event, nine teams presented their projects on stage during the Healthineering Competition. Among the innovative ideas, the project titled "Cardiac Vessel Segmentation" was awarded first place. The IEEE İstinye team and all participating students were thanked for their contributions to this achievement.

Double Award for i-Lab Team


Participating with eight different projects, the i-Lab team achieved notable success by receiving two awards based on jury evaluations. Their interdisciplinary projects, centered around technology and innovation, were met with great appreciation.

Held at İstinye University, the Healthineering & Graduation Projects Poster Event provided students with the opportunity to showcase their creative work by bringing science and innovation together. Successfully uniting academia, industry, and future engineers, the event once again emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative thinking.
