The Fighting Game Community (FGC) Gathers at İstinye University!

On Saturday September 12th 2026, the e-sports club, with the help of the Digital Game Design department hosted a tournament titled after the department named "DOT Fighters" in which participants could compete in several fighting games to win trophy prizes and prove their mettle in the following games:

- Street Fighter VI
- Tekken 8
- Guilty Gear: Strive
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Many visitors attended the tournament, many of which, competed, but there were plenty of those of who came to enjoy various fighting games with other attendees and experience the thrill and atmosphere of the tournament.

The event was sponsored by Sony who contributed to the event by providing Playstation 5 stations on which visitors could play and enjoy Street Fighter VI and Tekken 8 without having to participate in the tournament. The tournament was also broadcasted online on Twitch highlighting intense matches between excellent players accompanied by exciting commentary from the local fighting games community members.

At the end of the tournament, the victors were celebrated on stream, receiving trophies created by the e-sports club as well as the applaud of the audience. The e-sports club has plans to continue organizing similar events to foster a welcoming e-sports community and become an FGC hub in İstanbul in hopes of cultivating the talent many players possess within this community.
