Istinye University has been included in the evaluation process within the scope of the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) conducted by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK). In this context, an online pre-evaluation meeting was held on Friday, November 14, 2025 with the eight-member Evaluation Team appointed by YÖKAK.
The meeting was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş, Vice Rectors, members of the Senate and the University Executive Board, the General Secretariat, the Quality Commission, the Quality Coordination Office, the Quality and Accreditation Department, faculty deans, and administrative unit managers.
The meeting was opened by Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş, followed by a presentation by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hatice Gülen on the university’s institutional structure and main areas of activity. Subsequently, Quality Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sundu presented the activities carried out in line with the strengths and areas for improvement identified in YÖKAK’s 2023 Institutional Monitoring Report and provided a detailed overview of the criterion-based studies conducted within the KİDR 2024 process and beyond.
The pre-evaluation meeting concluded after the Evaluation Team members’ questions were addressed.
The YÖKAK Evaluation Team will conduct a site visit to Istinye University between December 7 and December 10, 2025. During this visit, the team will hold direct meetings with academic and administrative units, students, and external stakeholders. Throughout the visit, the university’s quality assurance system, institutional functioning, student engagement, research activities, education and training processes, societal contribution activities, administrative practices, and stakeholder communication will be examined on-site.
