The Barrier-Free Student Unit at İstinye University operates with the mission of ensuring that all students have equal opportunities in education and social life. The unit provides the necessary support and guidance for students with disabilities to overcome academic, social, and physical barriers, enabling them to experience university life in the most efficient and fulfilling way possible.
Our goal is to assist students with disabilities in overcoming all obstacles on campus, support their personal and academic development, and make their university experience more accessible and enjoyable. The unit offers a range of services including educational accessibility, physical environment adjustments, academic counseling, and psychological support.
Our Services:
Ensuring accessibility of educational materials (e.g., audio books and lecture notes for visually impaired students)
Implementing physical accessibility arrangements on campus (barrier-free pathways, elevators, ramps)
Providing psychological counseling and guidance services
Offering academic counseling and individual tutoring support
Supporting and encouraging participation in social activities
