About the Meeting
The New Carbon Economy Consortium (NCEC), a collaboration of leading universities, national labs, financiers, NGOs, and industry partners advancing a carbon-conscious future, will convene its 2026 Annual Meeting to accelerate pathways for large-scale carbon removal deployment and a just transition toward a negative-emissions economy. This gathering brings current and prospective members together to align on shared priorities, emerging science, and actionable solutions.

Special Guest
Klaus Lackner, Emeritus Professor, Arizona State University — widely regarded as the “grandfather” of Direct Air Capture (DAC). This meeting immediately precedes COP31 (9–20 November 2026, Antalya).
Peer Review & Publication
All abstracts and full papers undergo Double-Blind Peer Review by at least two expert reviewers before acceptance. Selected papers may be invited as book chapters in the Springer volume The New Carbon Economy: Economic Modeling, Optimization, and Strategic Energy Transformation (Studies in Systems, Decision and Control — Scopus Q2).
