The President and Vice-President of the Student Council for the 2025–2026 Academic Year were elected on 21 November 2025. According to the election results, Emir Erkal Üstünipek, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Medicine, was elected President of the Student Council, while Begüm Güler, a fifth-year student at the Faculty of Pharmacy, was elected Vice-President. Aiming to increase student representation, the council will continue to have a say in the academic and social life of the university.
After taking office, the new administration held its first meeting on 28 November 2025 with our Rector, Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş, and our Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Peyami Çelikcan. During the meeting, it was emphasised that İstinye University has a management culture based on stakeholder participation in decision-making processes. Prof. Dr. İbiş stated that he considers the representation of the Student Council, particularly in the Senate and other relevant committees, to be extremely important, emphasising that student opinions are one of the fundamental elements guiding university management.
