Dr. Furkan Atmar, a 2025–2026 graduate of our university’s School of Medicine, graduated at the top of his class from the same school where he had originally been admitted as the top-ranked applicant. Atmar crowned his success by ranking first in Turkey on the 2026 TUS Second Round exam.

Dr. Furkan Atmar, who scored a perfect 85,000 in both the Basic Sciences and Clinical Sciences categories on the 2026-TUS Second Round exam, became the national champion in both categories. Noting that his greatest source of motivation on his journey to becoming a physician is dreaming big and working with a clear focus on his goals, Atmar offered advice to his peers preparing for the TUS.

Dr. Atmar said, “The important thing is to envision the future. On this path, first map out your future course and imagine the day you’ve completed the TUS exam and started your residency. Because that will be your greatest source of motivation.”

“We Take Pride in Our Faculty’s Achievements”

Highlighting the rankings achieved by our Faculty of Medicine graduates on the TUS exam, our Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Türker Kılıç, congratulated Dr. Furkan Atmar, who ranked first in Turkey, and all graduates who placed in the top 500. Noting that the Faculty of Medicine’s academic staff and the entire ecosystem played a significant role in these achievements, Prof. Dr. Kılıç emphasized that the true heroes are the students.

Prof. Dr. Kılıç said, “Our expectation for Furkan going forward is that, in addition to being a good doctor, he will also be a good scientist. I hope he makes the right decision for himself and our country and determines how he will contribute to the scientific community. Just as we have done until now, we will continue to stand by Furkan with all the resources at our disposal.”

“My Biggest Dream Is to Develop a Scientific Method”

Dr. Atmar, who stated that his biggest dream when he began his medical education was to develop a surgical method and name it after himself, said, “In the future, my biggest dream and goal will still be to move forward in this direction.”
