As İstinye University, we are immensely proud to be ranked first among candidate foundation universities in the 2025 Research Universities evaluation announced by the Higher Education Council (YÖK). This result is a strong reflection of our university's determined progress in strengthening its research culture, increasing scientific productivity, and raising its international academic visibility.
High Success Rate in Performance Criteria
The evaluation was conducted under three main headings according to comprehensive performance criteria determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). In the Research Capacity (40%) category, scientific publications and citation counts, national and international R&D funds, patent application and registration data, and project performance in the Horizon Europe programme played a significant role. In the Research Quality (40%) category, the publication rate in top-tier journals, academic awards, open access policy, position in international rankings, accredited programmes, and doctoral outputs clearly demonstrated our university's development.
Furthermore, in the Interaction and Collaboration (20%) dimension, university-industry partnerships, international collaborations, the ratio of foreign students and faculty members, and academic mobility indicators have demonstrated that our university has established strong ties with global academic networks. When all these indicators are considered together, İstinye University has taken another significant step towards becoming a research university with its capacity for knowledge production, tradition of high-quality research, and structure that prioritises social benefit.
