As part of World Intellectual Property Day, our university hosted the “Future of Sports: Intellectual Property, Technology, and Commercialization” program, organized with the support of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and in collaboration with Turkey’s leading universities. The program, which included Boğaziçi University, Istanbul University, Istanbul Technical University, Özyeğin University, Sabancı University, and Yıldız Technical University as partners, established a strong foundation for collaboration between academia and industry in line with the “Partnerships for Goals” approach.

During the opening remarks, Prof. Dr. İrşadi Aksun, Vice Rector of Özyeğin University, representing the partner universities, and subsequently our Rector, Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş, addressed the participants.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş emphasized the importance of culture, art, and sports in the development processes of individuals and societies.

Later in the program, Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zeki Durak, President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, highlighted the critical role of protecting and commercializing intellectual property in the innovation ecosystem during his presentation titled “Industrial Property and Commercialization.”

Additionally, as part of the program, certificates were presented to participants who attended the training sessions organized by the Industrial Property Advisory Unit of İstinye University. The certificate ceremony was held with the participation of Prof. Dr. Muhammed Zeki Durak, President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office; our Rector, Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş; and representatives from partner universities.
