A Training Program on Disciplinary Procedures Was Conducted at Our University

Within the scope of the Higher Education Council’s circular on “Matters to Be Considered in Disciplinary Work and Procedures,” a comprehensive training program titled “Providing Education on Disciplinary Procedures” was organized at our University.

Accordingly, on January 8, 2026, training on matters to be considered in disciplinary procedures was provided to faculty and vocational school secretaries, as well as administrative staff, at our Topkapı Campus, and on January 9, 2026, at our Vadi Campus.

Follow-up training sessions were conducted for practitioners under the “Advanced Education” (ÖĞREM İLERİ) format, entitled “Disciplinary Procedures Training within the Scope of the Higher Education Law.” These sessions were delivered by Dr. M. Fatih Çınar, Faculty Member and Head of the Vocational School Law Department, at the Topkapı and Vadi Campus Main Sites on February 20 and 24, 2026.

The training covered the procedures for conducting faculty and student disciplinary actions in light of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and the decisions of the Council of State. Additionally, aspects of disciplinary processes that are significant in YÖK inspections were shared, and the forms and documents related to disciplinary procedures, prepared by the ISU Legal Consultancy and made available to relevant personnel via MYİSÜ, were introduced.

The two-hour, face-to-face, interactive sessions addressed in detail the processes of academic and student disciplinary investigations, disciplinary authorities and boards, the right to defense and taking statements, classification of actions, aggravating and mitigating circumstances, sanctioning procedures, and avenues and methods for appeals.

At the conclusion of the training program, a survey was conducted, and participation certificates were awarded to attendees.
