The “In the Light of Science in Zeytinburnu – BAZ&25” project, supported by the TÜBİTAK 4007 Science Festivals Support Program, was held between June 12–18, 2025, at the Zeytinburnu Martyrs Science and Art Center and attracted great interest.

The festival targeted a wide audience interested in science and technology, especially primary and high school students. It aimed to raise awareness around themes of science, technology, art, and sustainability.

During various workshops held throughout the festival, students received hands-on training on sustainability-focused topics such as environment, climate change, recycling, energy efficiency, and renewable technologies. Prof. Dr. Ruken Özgül Kılanç, who led the Corporate Communication Workshop, contributed to increasing the festival’s corporate visibility and enhancing participants' communication skills. Elif Yılmaz, part of the technical team, played an active role in coordinating the workshops on-site and adapting the content technically. Both made significant contributions during the content development and implementation phases of the project.

For Generations That Produce and Question Together

The project, carried out in collaboration with Biruni University, Zeytinburnu Municipality, and the Zeytinburnu District Directorate of National Education, was considered more than just a science festival; it served as a model educational initiative that nurtures questioning, productive, and socially conscious individuals. Through its interdisciplinary approach, the events encouraged students' scientific curiosity and helped develop 21st-century skills. Active learning opportunities enabled participants to engage deeply with science, creating a lasting learning experience.

Sustainable Contribution Led by Science

The BAZ&25 Science Festival stood out as an important organization that promoted science both academically and socially while fostering a sense of responsibility toward sustainability and the future. It made a significant contribution to İstinye University's vision of prioritizing sustainable social impact led by science and played a vital role in raising awareness among future generations. We congratulate our academics who made a difference with their work within the project and wish them continued success.
