ISTEP UPDATE AND INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE

Dear Students,

As the Department of Foreign Languages, we are carrying out a comprehensive update to the curriculum and assessment processes of our English Preparatory Program. As part of this effort, an updated ISTEP (English Proficiency Exam) format has been prepared, which is planned to be implemented starting from the next academic year.

Before this new exam format is put into practice, a pilot practice will be held on Tuesday, July 28^th in order to evaluate how the exam functions.

The pilot practice is solely intended to test the updated exam format. The results of the exam administered on July 28^th will not be considered an official proficiency result and will not affect students' academic standing.

The official ISTEP exam will be administered as planned on July 27^th, using the current exam format. The results of this exam will form the basis of the official evaluation.

In order to encourage participation in the pilot practice and support our students' contributions, the following incentive will be applied:

• Students who take part in the pilot ISTEP exam on July 28^th and complete all stages of the exam will receive an additional +5 points added to their final score on the official ISTEP exam held on July 27^th.

This incentive is offered as an appreciation to our students who contribute to the development of the updated exam system.

Note: The +5 point incentive applies only to the official ISTEP exam held on July 27^th, and only to students who fully participate in all stages of the pilot exam on July 28^th.

Değerli Öğrenciler,

Yabancı Diller Bölümü olarak İngilizce Hazırlık Programımızın öğretim programı ile ölçme ve değerlendirme süreçlerini geliştirmeye yönelik kapsamlı bir güncelleme çalışması yürütmekteyiz. Bu kapsamda, önümüzdeki akademik yıldan itibaren uygulanması planlanan güncellenmiş bir ISTEP (İngilizce Yeterlilik Sınavı) formatı hazırlanmıştır.

Söz konusu sınav formatının uygulanmaya başlamasından önce, sınavın işleyişini değerlendirmek amacıyla 28 Temmuz Salı günü bir pilot uygulama gerçekleştirilecektir.

Pilot uygulama yalnızca güncel sınav formatını test etmeye yöneliktir. 28 Temmuz tarihinde uygulanacak sınavın sonucu resmi bir yeterlilik sonucu olarak değerlendirilmeyecek ve öğrencilerin akademik durumunu etkilemeyecektir.

Resmî ISTEP sınavı ise planlandığı şekilde 27 Temmuz tarihinde mevcut sınav formatı kullanılarak uygulanacaktır. Bu sınavın sonuçları resmî değerlendirmeye esas alınacaktır.

Pilot uygulamaya katılımı teşvik etmek ve öğrencilerimizin katkılarını desteklemek amacıyla aşağıdaki uygulama gerçekleştirilecektir:

• 28 Temmuz tarihinde gerçekleştirilecek pilot ISTEP sınavına katılan ve sınavın tüm aşamalarını tamamlayan öğrencilerin, 27 Temmuz tarihinde yapılacak resmî ISTEP sınavından alacakları nihai puana +5 puan eklenecektir.

Bu uygulama, güncellenmiş sınav sisteminin geliştirilmesine katkı sağlayan öğrencilerimize teşekkür niteliğinde uygulanmaktadır.

Not: +5 puan uygulaması, yalnızca 27 Temmuz tarihinde gerçekleştirilecek resmî ISTEP sınavı için geçerlidir ve yalnızca 28 Temmuz tarihindeki pilot sınavın tüm aşamalarına eksiksiz katılan öğrencileri kapsar.
