Dear Students,

Applications for the Double Major and Minor Programs for the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year will be accepted between 08.09.2025 - 10.09.2025 through the student automation system (ois.istinye.edu.tr).

Candidates who meet the following application requirements may apply to the programs that have available quotas and allow Double Major. Only one application can be submitted either for a Double Major or a Minor program. Applications sent via e-mail will not be accepted.

DOUBLE MAJOR PROGRAMS

Applications can be submitted no earlier than the beginning of the third semester and no later than the beginning of the fifth semester in four-year programs, the seventh semester in five-year programs, the ninth semester in six-year programs, and for associate degree programs, no earlier than the beginning of the second semester and no later than the beginning of the third semester.

  • A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00/4.00 (3.15/4.00 for applications to the Pharmacy Program),
  • Successful completion of all courses taken up to the time of application,
  • Ranking within the top 20% of the class (top 10% for applications to the Pharmacy Program),
  • If the top 20% ranking requirement is not met, applicants must have achieved at least the minimum admission score for the relevant program in the corresponding year,
  • For applications to Engineering Programs, Architecture Program, and the Pharmacy Program, the required success ranking in the relevant score type must also be met,
  • For applications to English-medium programs, accepted candidates must provide proof of English proficiency (the ISTEP exam will be held prior to registration, and only those who pass the exam will be eligible to enroll).


MINOR PROGRAMS

  • Applications can be submitted no earlier than the beginning of the third semester and no later than the beginning of the sixth semester (only among undergraduate programs),
  • A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00,
  • Successful completion of all courses taken up to the time of application,
  • For applications to English-medium programs, accepted candidates must provide proof of English proficiency (the ISTEP exam will be held prior to registration, and only those who pass the exam will be eligible to enroll).

1. What is a Double Major?

A double major is an educational model that allows students enrolled in an undergraduate or associate degree program to take all the courses of another department at the university, successfully complete both programs at the same time, and receive a second diploma.

2. What are the Requirements for Double Major Applications?

For undergraduate programs:

· Students may apply no earlier than the beginning of the 3rd semester and no later than the beginning of the 5th semester of their main program. · A minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.00 is required (3.15/4.00 for Pharmacy applications). · Students must have successfully completed all courses in their main program up to the semester of application. · Students must rank in the top 20% of their class (top 10% for Pharmacy applications). · Students who do not meet the top 20% requirement must have achieved at least the minimum base score of the applied program for that academic year. · For English-medium programs, English proficiency must be met.

For associate degree programs:

· Students may apply no earlier than the beginning of the 2nd semester and no later than the beginning of the 3rd semester of their main program. · A minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.00 is required. · Students must have successfully completed all courses in their main program up to the semester of application. · Students must rank in the top 20% of their class. · Students who do not meet the top 20% requirement must have achieved at least the minimum base score of the applied program for that academic year.

3. How to Apply for a Double Major Program?

Applications are submitted through the student automation system (OIS) within the designated application dates. Applications via e-mail are not accepted.

4. What is the Duration of the Double Major Program?

Students who qualify for graduation from their main program but have not completed the double major program may continue their studies for the maximum period specified under Article 44(c) of Law No. 2547, starting from the year of registration to the double major program.

5. Is it Possible to Withdraw from the Double Major Program?

Yes, students may withdraw from the program by submitting a written request to the relevant departments. However, whether the courses taken and the grades received will be counted depends on the university regulations.

6. Who Cannot Apply for a Double Major Program?

Students enrolled through DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) or YÖS (International Student Exam) admission cannot apply for double major programs.

 

Minor Program

1. What is a Minor?

A minor is an educational model that allows undergraduate students to take certain courses from another department of the university and receive a certificate in that field.

2. What are the Requirements for Minor Applications?

· Students may apply no earlier than the beginning of the 3rd semester and no later than the beginning of the 6th semester. · A minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.50/4.00 is required. · Students must have successfully completed all courses in their main program up to the semester of application. · For English-medium programs, English proficiency must be met.

3. How to Apply for a Minor Program?

Applications for minor programs are submitted through the student automation system (OIS) within the designated dates. Applications via e-mail are not accepted.

4. What is the Duration of the Minor Program?

Students who qualify for graduation from their main program but have not completed their minor may be granted an additional maximum of two semesters by the decision of the relevant administrative boards.

5. Is it Possible to Withdraw from the Minor Program?

Yes, students may withdraw from the program by submitting a written request to the Directorate of Student Affairs.
