Washback Effects in Foreign Language Assessment in ELL405 – Assessment in Foreign Language Education Course

As part of the ELL405 – Assessment in Foreign Language Education course taught by Dr. Masoumeh Seyyedrezaei, a faculty member of the Department of English Language and Literature, a guest lecture session was held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, between 12:00 and 13:00. In this context, Dr. Rahim Sarı, Head of the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Istinye University, participated in the course as a guest lecturer.

During the session held in AB406, Dr. Sarı delivered a presentation on washback effects in foreign language assessment and their implications for teaching and learning, in close connection with the course content. The presentation contributed to students’ understanding of language testing and assessment from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
