Chemistry (English) PhD | İstinye University

As of the 2022–2023 academic year, the newly launched İstinye University Chemistry Doctorate Program aims to provide an international-standard research vision to the discipline of chemistry, which lies at the core of scientific discovery. Conducted entirely in English, the program is designed to educate highly qualified researchers and academicians fully integrated into the universal language of science.

Our program offers advanced theoretical and experimental training to professionals from a broad interdisciplinary spectrum, including Chemistry, Pharmacy, Food Engineering, Genetics, and Chemical Engineering. Open to applicants holding either a bachelor’s or thesis-based master’s degree, this comprehensive academic pathway provides an inclusive learning environment supported by a “Scientific Preparation Program” for candidates from diverse disciplinary backgrounds.

Academic Depth and Sectoral Leadership:
The fundamental focus of our doctoral education is to contribute to science through the successful execution of an original and specialized research project under the supervision of an academic advisor. By combining advanced technical laboratory skills with critical thinking and analytical competence, our students pursue the following objectives:

  • R&D Expertise: Gaining the identity of a doctoral chemist capable of leading large-scale research and development projects in the chemistry and pharmaceutical industries.

  • Academic Excellence: The ability to conduct independent research and produce impactful publications that contribute to the international scientific literature, advancing through academic career pathways.

  • Advanced Scientific Methodology: The capacity to synthesize theoretical knowledge across different subfields of chemistry with applied projects to generate innovative solutions.

Graduates who fulfill the requirements of İstinye University’s Graduate Education and Training Regulations—by successfully completing their coursework and defending their original doctoral dissertation—are awarded the Doctorate in Chemistry diploma, representing the title of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of chemistry.
