Established on May 17, 2022, through the strategic partnership of the Departments of Histology and Embryology and Medical Pathology within the Faculty of Medicine, the İstinye University Histology and Embryology Doctorate Program is an advanced research center dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of cells, tissues, and embryogenesis processes. Our program examines, from a scientific perspective, the developmental journey from a fertilized ovum to a fully developed organism, as well as the developmental anomalies that may arise throughout this process.
Without understanding the microscopic architecture at the cellular and tissue levels, it is impossible to fully comprehend the complex physiological functioning of the human body. Guided by this vision, our doctoral program fosters scientific discovery through high value-added and multidisciplinary projects, interacting with disciplines such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Molecular Biology.
