İstinye University Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing Doctorate Program aims to educate highly competent scientists who will shape the discipline of women’s health through interdisciplinary collaborations and a strong academic staff. Our education model, supported by strategic partnerships within and beyond the university, ensures that students acquire qualifications aligned with global standards and expand their professional networks.

Academic Process and Research Focus:
Our doctoral program, with a standard duration of eight semesters, encompasses in-depth theoretical and clinical practice training during the first four semesters. Throughout this period, candidates are expected to take an active role in scientific publication production and gain experience in national and international research projects. The final four semesters of the program are dedicated to the doctoral dissertation, which requires an original academic contribution. When necessary, the duration of the program may be extended up to twelve semesters.

Graduates who earn the title of “Doctor” may undertake the highest-level administrative and scientific roles at all levels of the healthcare system:

  • Academic Career: Opportunity to serve as Faculty Member or Lecturer within Faculties of Nursing and Health Sciences, as well as in Nursing and Midwifery programs, contributing to academic staff and scientific advancement.

  • Senior Clinical Management: Leadership roles in public and private healthcare institutions, medical and community health centers, such as “Department Supervisor,” “Head Nurse,” “Education Nurse,” or “Strategic Consultant.”

  • Broad Service Spectrum: Provision of scientifically grounded expertise across the entire healthcare ecosystem, from family health centers and rehabilitation units to home care institutions and emergency health services.
