Istinye University Turkish Language and Literature Master's Program with Thesis aims to educate scholars and specialists who can analyze the historical development of the Turkish language and the rich corpus of Turkish literature through a scientific discipline and contribute original insights to the academic literature. - Language and Textual Studies: Specialization in the structural transformation of the Turkish language from Old Turkic to the present, transcription of Ottoman Turkish texts, and philological analysis methods.
- Literary Theories and Criticism: Developing text analysis skills through the aesthetic world of classical Turkish literature, the evolution of modern literature from the Tanzimat period to the present, and contemporary literary theories.
- Scientific Research Discipline and Original Thesis: A comprehensive thesis study conducted under faculty supervision that examines a problem in Turkish language or literature using scientific methodologies and contributes new insights to the academic literature.
Our graduates who meet the criteria set by the Istinye University Graduate Education and Teaching Regulations, successfully complete their credit-bearing courses, and defend their original thesis are awarded the Master’s Degree in Turkish Language and Literature. With this qualification, they may continue their academic careers at the doctoral level or undertake prestigious roles in fields such as publishing, editing, and cultural consultancy.
