She received her PhD in 2021 with a dissertation titled "Maqamat al-Hariri in Turkish Literature and Manastırlı Dâniş Ahmed Efendi’s Commentary on Maqamat-ı Edebiyye-i Harîriyye," supervised by Asst. Prof. Ali Emre Özyıldırım. In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Kurt studied Islamic calligraphy (hat) under Calligrapher Abdullah Gün—a student of masters Hasan Çelebi and Prof. Dr. Ali Alparslan. She practiced the Rik’a script for four years and the Ta’lîq script for three years before pausing her practice to focus on her academic research. In 2024, she was awarded the TUBITAK 2219 International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for her project, "Early Modern Literary Translation and Commentary Texts in Ottoman Literature." As part of this fellowship, she conducted research at Ruhr University Bochum for six months under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hülya Çelik. Dr. Kurt has been a member of the academic staff at Istinye University in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature since 2017, where she currently serves as an Assistant Professor.
