Prof. Emine Türkmen

Prof. Dr. Emine TÜRKMEN Türkmen completed her undergraduate studies at Istanbul University Florence Nightingale School of Nursing between 1980 and 1984, received her master's degree from Istanbul University Institute of Health Sciences Master Program of Medical Nursing in 1987, and received Nursing Doctorate Degree in 1997. She worked as a nurse and charge nurse at Istanbul University Cardiology Institute between 1984 and 1990. She worked as a research assistant at Istanbul University Florence Nightingale School of Nursing, Department of Medical Nursing between 1990 and 1995. She served as a nurse educator and researcher at Vehbi Koç Foundation Semahat Arsel Nursing Education and Research Center (SANERC) between 1995 and 2003. She served as a director of SANERC at Koç University between January 2004 and June 2009, and between November 2016 and August 2019. She also worked as Assist. Prof. at Koç University Faculty of Nursing between January 2004 and August 2019. She has led SANERC's processes of obtaining accreditation certificates from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) at the international level since 2010. She retained her coordinator duties at SANERC between September 2019 and August 2021. In March 2017, Türkmen received the title of associate professor, and since September 2021, she has been working as a faculty member in Istinye University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nursing. She has served as a thesis advisor, and published articles for international and national refereed journals and book chapters. Her research interests include management in nursing, human resources management, patient safety, change management, continuous quality improvement, intensive care nursing, accreditation in baccalaureate nursing program and continuing nursing education. As a founding member of the Turkish Society of Critical Care Nurses, Türkmen is actively working as a member of the Association of Nurse Managers and the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Nursing Education.
