Pursuant to Article 44/c of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, students are required to complete undergraduate programs with a four-year duration within a maximum of seven years, starting from the semester in which the courses of their registered programs are offered.
In accordance with the aforementioned article, final-year students who have completed the maximum duration of study but have not graduated will be granted two additional examination attempts. Students who do not apply for the additional exam opportunity within the specified application period will be deemed to have waived this right, and their affiliation with the university will be terminated in accordance with the relevant article of Law No. 2547.
The additional exam opportunity will be applied in accordance with the principles outlined below:
1. Students who have completed the maximum study period will be granted two additional exam opportunities for all courses in which they have failed.
2. As a result of these exams;
a) Students who reduce the number of failed courses to five are granted three semesters for these courses,
b) Students who fail up to five courses without taking additional exams are granted four semesters,
c) Students who fail one course are granted unlimited access to take the exam for the course they failed, without being entitled to student rights.
3. Final-year students who have passed all courses in their program but are at risk of termination due to failing to achieve the graduation GPA specified in the regulations are granted unlimited exam rights for any courses they choose in order to raise their GPA.
4. Attendance is not mandatory for courses other than practical, application-based, or previously unattended courses.
5. Students who do not participate in the exams to be held consecutively or intermittently for a total of three academic years are deemed to have waived their unlimited exam right and cannot benefit from this right.
6. Students must contact Student Accounting regarding matters related to the fees for additional exams.
Students of the Faculty of Health Sciences at İstinye University who have completed their maximum period of study and wish to take advantage of the additional exam opportunity must personally apply to the Faculty Secretariat (Topkapı Campus, Office Z12) by 5:00 PM on November 14, 2025, and fill out the application form. Students who do not apply by the specified date will have their registrations deleted because they have completed their maximum study period.
