İstinye University is “student-oriented.” Our main goal is for our students to stand out with the “İstinyeli” identity—as graduates who know themselves and their abilities, are well-rounded, express themselves clearly and effectively, think critically, research, have a strong desire to learn, act with social responsibility and ethical awareness, and possess entrepreneurial and employable qualities.
The Health, Culture and Sports Department (SKS) is the unit that plans, manages, and develops all non-academic processes at our university in order to achieve the goal of raising “İstinyeli” graduates. In short, we are with you at every moment you need guidance or support—from adapting to university life to developing yourself, from internships to club activities, from career planning to psychological counseling needs.
Creating the “İstinyeli” Graduate Identity
An “İstinyeli” graduate is unique. They possess the competencies required by professional life, are socially and culturally developed, and are also strong in sports. An İstinyeli graduate stands out not only with academic success but also with versatility and social engagement.
Our job is to offer you opportunities to discover yourself, provide environments to help you improve, and push boundaries so that you can become the best version of yourself.
The SKS Department monitors your non-academic development and supports you in improving and documenting your extracurricular competencies.
Adaptation to University Life
To make the most of university life and enjoy being a university student, you must get to know this new environment, understand your rights and responsibilities.
During your first week, SKS will provide you with information about the university, your department, regulations, processes, rights, and responsibilities. We will help you adapt to university and student life by offering continuous guidance afterward.
In the orientation and welcome week organized during the first week, we will introduce you to what it means to be an “İstinyeli.”
In case you experience difficulties adapting, we are also here to provide counseling and, if needed, psychological support.
Career Management Process
An “İstinyeli” does not see a career merely as a ladder to climb upward but as a lifelong journey. They know how to adapt to changing job requirements and understand that education and development never end with school.
They see skills, hobbies, art, sports, and culture as integral parts of career management.
At İstinye, students engage with professional life while still studying.
We support our students in recognizing, discovering, and developing their talents through certified training programs, seminars, practical workshops, mentoring, consulting, entrepreneurship development, social responsibility initiatives, and competency-based activities.
With career weeks, industry collaborations, teamwork and communication workshops, CV writing, and interview training, we prepare “İstinyeli” students for professional life.
Sports Activities
Whether you are an individual athlete, a team player, or simply exercising for health and enjoyment, SKS serves to promote a sports culture and improve sports facilities at our university.
Our Topkapı Campus has multi-purpose outdoor fields, an indoor sports hall, and the ISU Sport Center gym for fitness training.
Additionally, both Topkapı and Vadi campuses have table tennis areas open for free use by all students.
If you are or have been an active or professional athlete, you can join university teams.
Students who succeed in tryouts represent İstinye University in official and private tournaments.
Annual ISUCup tournaments, including table tennis, chess, futsal, volleyball, basketball, e-sports, and more, are open to all students.
You can participate by contacting the SKS Sports Unit.
All sports activities at SKS follow the rules and calendar set by the Turkish University Sports Federation.
Student Clubs
An “İstinyeli” doesn’t just study; they also engage in clubs and activities.
Clubs help students develop project management, responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and time management skills—all in an enjoyable way.
From sports to art, gastronomy to mountaineering, SKS supports all clubs and activities you wish to start.
We stand with you in social responsibility projects, cultural and artistic events, seminars, and conferences.
We also encourage every student to be involved in at least one sport.
We promise to be participants in your events, audience in your exhibitions, listeners in your conferences, supporters at your matches, and proud of every success you achieve.
Internship Programs
An “İstinyeli” sees internships as the gateway to professional life—not just as something to put on a CV, but as a chance to turn theory into practice, experience the workplace, and build a network.
At İstinye University, internships are an essential part of academic life.
The SKS Department constantly works to create internship opportunities in different sectors and establish agreements with the Public Hospitals Union for health-related fields.
We coordinate and support you throughout the entire internship process.
Student Council and Representation
An “İstinyeli” participates in university governance.
Through elected representatives and the Student Council, students make their voices heard and experience democracy and leadership firsthand.
The İstinye University Student Council serves as a bridge between students and the university, organizing activities that support student development.
SKS assists in student representative and council elections, as well as in coordinating student council activities.
Working Students at İstinye
An “İstinyeli” makes productive use of free time by working at the university.
During class breaks or holidays, they work part-time in various departments, gaining both income and work experience.
The SKS Department manages the part-time student employment process.

Scholarship and Discount Applications
Life doesn’t always go as planned.
An “İstinyeli” knows they are not alone when facing financial difficulties or unexpected circumstances.
We announce the scholarship and discount application periods according to the Scholarship Directive and follow up your applications.
SKS supports you throughout the entire process—from application to announcement of results.
Student Life
An “İstinyeli” makes full use of all opportunities offered by the university and knows that all processes are continuously improved for a happy and quality student experience.
We are here for all students—those staying in dormitories, using shuttle services, eating in cafeterias, studying in libraries, joining clubs, exercising, or even staying late at night to study.
To ensure a fulfilling student experience, we:
