The “Symposium on Violence Against Women: From the Clinic to the Courthouse” organized by the EMSA Club was successfully held on March 15, 2026, at the Vadi Main Campus of İstinye University. The event aimed to address violence against women from a multidisciplinary perspective by examining its medical, psychological, and legal dimensions.

During the symposium, violence was evaluated not only as a medical case but also as a complex process with psychosocial and legal consequences. Experts from the fields of emergency medicine, forensic medicine, and psychiatry shared their clinical experiences and current legal practices. In addition, the approaches, responsibilities, and cooperation mechanisms of healthcare professionals and related occupational groups in handling cases of violence were discussed in detail.

Throughout the event, case analyses and interdisciplinary intervention strategies were presented to participants, allowing them to gain a comprehensive understanding of the medical, psychological, and legal aspects of violence against women. Beyond raising awareness, the symposium also provided an opportunity to strengthen interdisciplinary coordination and learn effective intervention methods.
