The “Bookmark-Making Activity with 3rd Grade Students” organized by the Kızılay Club was held off-campus on April 27, 2026, at an elementary school located in Bağcılar, Istanbul. The event was organized to introduce children to Kızılay, raise awareness about volunteerism, and promote the culture of sharing and solidarity.
As part of the program, members of the club came together with 3rd grade students studying at Rayip Akın Primary School. Throughout the event, students were informed about Kızılay’s activities, humanitarian aid efforts, and the importance of social solidarity.
One of the most enjoyable parts of the event was the bookmark-making activity carried out together with the children. While improving their handcraft skills and spending enjoyable time together, the students also created meaningful keepsakes that encouraged reading habits. At the end of the event, books were gifted to the students in order to support and promote a love of reading.
Through this social responsibility project, the aim was both to increase children’s awareness of Kızılay and to instill a culture of volunteerism from an early age. At the same time, the event became a valuable experience for university students by strengthening their sense of social interaction and responsibility.
The Kızılay Club continues to organize activities that bring together different segments of society, create social benefit, and raise awareness among children.
