Support for the Search and Rescue Student Club and the Promotion of Disaster Awareness at İstinye University
Istanbul University continues its efforts to raise awareness about natural disasters and disaster preparedness. In this context, Rector Prof. Erkan İBİŞ, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Peyami ÇELİKCAN and Prof. Dr. Yasemin GÜRSOY ÖZDEMİR met with the university's Search and Rescue Student Club. At the meeting, club president Umut Kaan GÜVEN shared the students' projects aimed at raising disaster awareness, while the university administration emphasized that it prioritized and supported these efforts.
The Volunteer Disaster Response Team Association (GAME), which participated in the meeting, also stated that as a non-governmental organization, it was open to cooperation in providing training and operational support to students. The university administration expressed its appreciation for the partnerships developed by the student club with public institutions and civil society organizations, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives. İstinye University will continue to encourage efforts to promote basic disaster awareness.
