Dr. Aydın Özbey is a Ph.D. Mechanical Engineer and researcher specializing in high-energy physics (HEP) instrumentation and control systems. He completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at Istanbul University and his Ph.D. at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa , where he also served as a researcher and lecturer for many years.
His primary research focuses include the design and control of particle accelerator components and the development of detector gas distribution systems. Having played active roles in the CERN-ATLAS and CAST experiments, he managed the design, procurement, and installation processes of gas systems for MUON RPC detectors. He has integrated his technical expertise in mechanical design (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor), thermal-structural simulations (Autodesk Nastran, Ansys Fluent, Mechanical), PLC programming, LabVIEW, SCADA (WinCC and WinCC OA), and industrial robotics programming into his research projects.
Dr. Özbey is currently a post-doctoral researcher at İstinye University, Department of Basic Sciences.
