As the Istinye University Technology Transfer Office (İstinye TTO), we continue to facilitate the transformation of academic knowledge into social and economic added value by bridging academia and industry. In line with this vision, a historic milestone was achieved for our university with the 'Patent Licensing Launch' held on December 19, 2025, at our Vadi Campus.

The ceremony was graced by the attendance of Prof. Dr. M. Zeki Durak, President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office; Dr. Muharrem Usta, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş, our Rector; Prof. Dr. Bestami Özkaya, Vice Rector for R&D; and Ömer Ertuğrul Meral, Director of the Technology Transfer Office. During the event, speakers emphasized the critical importance of transferring university-generated knowledge to the industry for the national innovation ecosystem, highlighting this initiative as a model for the country.

As part of the first-ever collective licensing ceremony in our university’s history, 6 patents developed by our esteemed academics and protected under intellectual property rights were licensed to 5 different industrial organizations. Alongside inventions contributing to next-generation treatment and drug development in health technologies and pharmacology, digital transformation-oriented software and system solutions have also reached a significant stage on the path to commercialization.
