Research Management and Strategic Framework

Istinye University aspires to position itself as a nationally and internationally esteemed research-oriented institution, in consonance with national development objectives and regional development agendas. The university places paramount importance on the execution of research and development endeavors, grounded in intellect and science, driven by innovative and knowledge-based advanced technologies, all geared towards making substantial contributions to the national economy and global scientific advancements. In pursuit of this ambition, the university has instituted a research management system, predicated on empirical data and congruent with individual objectives that dovetail with the institution's research goals. This system has been established under the coordination and management of the Vice-Rector for Research and Development. The strategic goals delineated in Istinye University's 2021-2025 Strategic Plan are crafted to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge generated through high-caliber research for the societal good. These objectives encompass the fostering of community development, the enhancement of healthcare facilities, the innovation of new technologies, the bolstering of the national economy, and the nurturing of nascent researchers. Moreover, the plan includes the creation of research centers, the development of research strategies within postgraduate programs, the establishment of research and development laboratories, the implementation of research projects within the purview of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), and the promotion of university-industry partnerships. The promotion of entrepreneurship and the incubation of entrepreneurial ventures are also prioritized, alongside the provision of regular training, certification programs, and mentorship initiatives aimed at augmenting both the quantity and quality of research outputs. In furtherance of these objectives, mechanisms and units have been instituted to systematically monitor and analyze progress.
