Assistant Professor Yiğit Bekir Kaya

I recently started as an Assistant Professor in the Computer Engineering Department at Istinye University, where my current research and teaching focus on training large language models (LLMs) and developing AI Agents. My Ph.D. in Natural Language Processing (NLP), specialized in deep transfer learning, equips me with advanced skills to address complex computational linguistic challenges. As an experienced software developer, I have a strong background in artificial intelligence, big data, and data science, which I apply effectively across academic and industry contexts. My passion for video game design and development continues to influence my research and teaching, inspiring innovative, interactive, and immersive learning methods. Previously, I served as a Technical Research Advisor at Tanka, working on innovative solutions addressing global challenges such as climate change and sustainability. At Tanka, I collaborated with strategic partners to develop and scale cutting-edge technologies in bioplastics, green steel, clean mining, and biotech and life sciences, contributing to establishing new operating companies aimed at creating a sustainable future. Throughout my career, I have held numerous leadership positions, including founding multiple tech startups and setting up and managing an innovation lab at Istanbul Technical University. Additionally, I led a virtual reality game startup, managing a diverse team of 20 artists and developers. My deep expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning enables me to tackle complex problems effectively, combining advanced computing techniques with analytical rigor.
