Professor Dr. Bekir Durmus was born in 1970 in Adiyaman. He graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1994. Between 1994-96, he did his compulsory service as a general practitioner in Adiyaman Damlacik Health Center. Between 1996-1999, he worked as an assistant doctor at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and became a Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation specialist in 1999. Between 1994-96, he did his compulsory service as a general practitioner in Adiyaman Damlacik Health Center. Between 1996-1999, he worked as an assistant doctor at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and became a Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation specialist in 1999. He worked as a specialist doctor at Istanbul Erenkoy Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital between 2000-05. From 2005 to 2011, he worked as an assistant professor at Inonu University Faculty of Medicine, Department of FM&R. In 2011, he qualified for the title of associate professor at the same university. Between 2014-17, he worked as a hospital manager/chief physician at Istanbul Erenkoy Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital. In 2018, he was awarded the title of professor and started to work as a faculty member at Istinye University Faculty of Health Sciences. In 2020, he transferred to Istinye University Faculty of Medicine Department of FM&R and served as the head of the Department of FM&R for two years. Professor Durmus still continues his academic life as a lecturer in the same department.
