Prof. Ozan Özkaya

Ozan Özkaya graduated from Zonguldak TED College in 1986, and from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. She completed pediatric residency training in 1998, and pediatric nephrology fellowship programme in 2002 at Gazi University. After her fellowship, she joined Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 2002. She became associate professor in 2005 and Professor in 2011 at the same university. She received “Young Researcher Award” in 2005, and the “Best Presentation” First Prize in 2014, 2016 given by Turkish Society of Pediatric Nephrology. She also received numerous national and international awards for her scientific researchs. She became pediatric rheumatologist in 2011 and worked as visiting observer in NewYork University, Langone Medical Center, Dept.of Pediatric Rheumatology in 2012. She served as the head of Division of Pediatric Nephrology and Rheumatology at Ondokuz Mayıs University between 2002-2012. She also served at various administrative duties such as member of Medical Education Governence and Curriculum Committee at the same university. After running of the head of Department of Pediatrics in Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital, she was appointed at İstinye University Hospital at 2017. She is a member of International Societies such as European Society of Pediatric Nephrology, International Pediatric Association, European Dialysis and Transplant Association. She has published more than 95 papers in pediatric nephrology and rheumatology with more than 2500 citations. Her areas of interests are renal stone diseases, kidney transplantation, Henoch-Schonlein nephritis, and Familial Mediterranean Fever .
