Assistant Professor Ali Tuğrul Akin
Temel Tıp
Dr. Ali Tuğrul Akin graduated from the Department of Biology at Erciyes University, Faculty of Science, in 2012. He completed his master's degree at the Institute of Science at the same university and obtained his Ph.D. in 2021 with his dissertation titled "Histological and Molecular Investigation of Pluripotency in Adriamycin-Induced Testicular Damage." He conducted his postdoctoral research at the Erciyes University Drug Application and Research Center, where he established his own laboratory and research team. In 2023, he carried out postdoctoral studies at King’s College London under the TÜBİTAK 2219 International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program. In 2024, he joined the Cancer and Pharmaceutical Science department at the same university as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) and Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL). His research interests include cancer epigenetics, epigenetic modifications, DNA damage and replication, and pharmaceutical drug targets
