Dr. Karakoç completed her residency at İstanbul University, İstanbul Medical Faculty, Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology in 2007. While she was working at Mardin State Hospital, she created a fieldwork about West Nile Virus infections and follow up large number of patients about brucellosis. Between 2009-2012 she worked at Şişli Florance Nightingale Hospital and Bilim University as a authorized physician in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology where she mostly follow-up orthopedic, immunosupresif patients (oncology and transplant) infections. She has been working at Liv Hospital-Ulus Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology department since 2013. In 2014 she started to work as a lecturer (Asst. Prof.) at Bahçeşehir University Health Sciences and continues her studies in İstinye University Medical Faculty since 2016. She published 34+ articles, 74+ posters and oral presentations in international, national journals and congresses, scientific meetings. She is the member of Turkish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Turkish Society of Microbiology, European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Association. Dr. Karakoç has been working as the secretary of the Klimik Association Fungal infections working group since 2019. Invasive fungal infections, Covid-19 related fungal infections, recurrent urinary tract infections, vaccination in adults, infections in immunocompromised patients are her areas of interest.
