Hasip Pektas was born in Ermenek in 1953. He graduated from Gazi Teacher Training Institue in 1974. He worked as a Professor at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Graphic Design in 1987-2007. He became Associate Professor in 1995 and Professor in 2001. He was the founding director of Hacettepe Art Museum between 2005-2007. He is currently a faculty member at the Department of Cartoon and Animation, Faculty of Communication, Üsküdar University.
