As part of the İstinye University High School Winter Camp, the workshop titled “Introduction to Journalism: Seeking the Truth” was successfully conducted with strong student participation. The workshop was led by Dr. Mahmut Enes Ağca, Assistant Professor.
The workshop focused on the fundamental principles of journalism, the process of news verification, and the importance of reaching the truth in news production. Participants were introduced to how news is constructed, how the reliability of sources is assessed, and the ethical responsibilities of journalism in society.
Designed in an interactive format, the session provided students with the opportunity to engage in discussions and evaluate real-world examples, highlighting the role of critical thinking in journalistic practice. The workshop aimed to enhance media literacy and offer students a foundational perspective on journalism.
The event was completed successfully as part of Istinye University’s High School Winter Camp activities, which seek to introduce high school students to academic fields at an early stage.
