As part of the High School Winter Camp activities, a special workshop focusing on creative thinking and visual storytelling was held for students. The workshop featured a lecture titled “Telling Stories Through Images: An Introduction to Editing” delivered by Dr. Aslı Ildır.
During the session, students were introduced to the fundamental methods of visual storytelling and explored how editing shapes narrative meaning. Through selected film examples, the workshop highlighted the often “invisible” aspects of editing, making cutting and sequencing techniques more perceptible and easier to understand.
The workshop aimed to help students combine their own video materials into coherent and meaningful stories using conscious editing strategies. Moving beyond fast-paced social media content, the session emphasized approaches to creating more layered, thoughtful, and impactful visual narratives.
This workshop, organized within the scope of the High School Winter Camp, was met with strong interest and contributed to enhancing students’ visual literacy and creative expression skills.
