Within the framework of COST Action CA21164 ADVANCE-TB, an international training school aimed at advancing diagnostic and treatment strategies for tuberculosis (TB) was hosted by Istinye University.
Organized by the Istinye University Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Center (ISUNANOMER) and the Department of Biomedical Engineering, the training school entitled “Synthesis and Characterization of Nanoparticles for Drug Delivery: From Fundamentals to Biomedical Applications” was successfully held in Istanbul on January 27–28, 2026.
The program was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar Çakır Hatır, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Director of ISUNANOMER, with the contributions of PhD students Asmaa Maaz, Beyzanur Erk, Gülşah Sevimli, and Necla Yücel.
Over two days, participants discussed fundamental principles of nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, as well as current approaches to their biomedical applications, particularly in drug delivery systems. The event brought together researchers from different countries, providing a productive platform for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange.
