She continued her postgraduate education in the Department of Biophysics, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara University, where her master’s studies were supported by TÜBITAK (BIDEP 2228A). In 2009, she was appointed as a Research Assistant (Article 33a) in the same department and continued her doctoral studies. After completing her PhD in 2015, she pursued her academic career as a faculty member at Sivas Cumhuriyet University.
She accomplished administrative duties at the Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine Research Center (Deputy Director) and the Advanced Technology Research and Application Center (Responsible for the Western blot system), where she established protein analysis systems for active service. Between 2015 and 2020, she completed two individual research projects as the principal investigator, one supported by the university and the other by the Turkish Diabetes Foundation (within the scope of the 2016 Best Scientific Project Award). She conducted research using in vivo and in vitro experimental models of diabetes/insulin resistance and investigated the electrophysiological and molecular mechanisms underlying diabetic cardiomyopathy/cardiac insulin resistance. Her current research focus is on elucidating the electrophysiological and molecular processes of neuronal dysfunctions.
Dr. Esma Nur Zeydanlı has 18 international research articles indexed in Web of Science (SSCI), with a total of 562 citations, an hindex of 14, and an i10index of 16. She teaches in the Neuroscience Master’s and PhD Programs and serves as a member of the executive board.
