Dr. Özüdoğru 30 Eylül 1975 tarihinde İstanbul’ da doğmuştur. 1993 yılında Özel Ahmet Şimşek Koleji’ nden (İstanbul) mezuniyetini takiben, 1997 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi, Biyoloji Bölümü, Moleküler Biyoloji kümesinden mezun olmuştur. Yüksek Lisans (2000) ve Doktora (2005) derecelerini Gebze Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü (günümüzdeki ismi Gebze Teknik Üniversitesi), Moleküler Biyoloji Bölümü’nden almıştır. Dr. Özüdoğru’ nun o dönemlerdeki araştırma alanları bitki doku kültürü ve PCR’ a dayalı moleküler belirteçlerin bitki germplasmasına uygulanması üzerinedir. 2005 yılında Italyan Ulusal Araştırma Komisyonu CNR’ a bağlı olan Ivalsa (Trees and Timber Institute) Enstitüsün’ nde (Floransa, İtalya) 1 yıllık Post-doc çalışması sırasında bitki germplasmasının in vitro saklanması ve kriyoprezervasyonu konularında tecrübe kazanmıştır. 2005-2010 yılları arasında Gebze Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü, ‘Bitki Doku Kültürü ve Moleküler Biyoloji’ ve ‘Bitki Konservasyonu ve Kriyoprezervasyonu’ laboratuvarlarının kurulmasında aktif rol almıştır. 2007 yılında Yardımcı Doçent ünvanını almış ve 2007-2010 tarihleri arasında ‘Bitki Fizyolojisi’ ve ‘Bitki Biyoçeşitliliğinin Konservasyonu’ konularında yüksek lisans ve doktora dersleri vermiştir. 2010 yılında Ivalsa, İtalya’ ya dönen Dr. Özüdoğru, 2018 yılına kadar burada araştırmacı olarak görev almıştır. Doçent Dr. ünvanını Aralık 2012 tarihinde, halen İtalya’ dayken almıştır. Araştırma alanları arasında in vitro propagasyon (mikroçoğaltım, somatik embryogenez, organogenez, TIS bioreaktörler, sentetik tohum teknolojisi), in vitro konservasyon, kriyopreservasyon, bitki moleküler biyolojisi ve gaz kromatografik analizler sayılabilir. Dr. Özüdoğru ‘Biologia Plantarum’ ve ‘Propagation of Ornamental Plants’ adlı ISI Uluslararası Dergilerin editörleri arasındadır, ayrıca ‘ACTA Physiologiae Plantarum’, ‘Biotechnology Advances’, ‘CryoLetters’, ‘Horticultural Science’, ‘In Vitro Cellular and Developmental Biology – Plant’, ‘Journal of Botany’, ‘Journal of Horticultural Science’, ‘Plant Cell Tissue and Organ Culture’, ‘Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry, Turkish Journal of Botany’ gibi pek çok ISI Uluslararası dergiye de bilimsel hakemlik yapmaktadır.
