Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Gürsoy, Head of the Department of Economics, Delivered a Seminar on “Recycling and Sustainability” to Middle School Students

Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Gürsoy, Head of the Department of Economics at Istinye University, delivered a seminar titled “Recycling and Sustainability” to 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students at Istanbul Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High School.

The event was organized as part of a social responsibility project conducted by students from Istinye University’s Child Development Department. Prior to the seminar, meetings were held with School Principal Ramazan Ayaz and Vice Principal Özlem Eravcı, during which the importance of establishing closer and more collaborative ties between the university and the school was emphasized.

As a result of these discussions, both parties agreed to organize various projects and seminars aimed at supporting the school’s ongoing efforts in waste prevention, reducing consumption, and promoting sustainability. The collaboration aims to reinforce sustainability awareness from an early age and foster greater environmental consciousness among students.
