An International Perspective for Future Healthcare Managers on Healthcare Managers’ Day!

Within the scope of 18 December Healthcare Managers’ Day, a meaningful academic event was organized by the Department of Health Management at Istinye University. As part of the event, Dr. Nurettin Öner, Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama, delivered a presentation titled “The U.S. Healthcare System and Health Management Education.” In his talk, Dr. Öner shared important insights into the structural characteristics of the American healthcare system, its management approach, and the training processes of healthcare managers. The presentation was followed with great interest by the participants, as it offered an international perspective on the field of health management.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Hacer Özgen Narcı, Head of the Department of Health Management; faculty members Dr. Gülhan Kalmuk and Dr. Hakan Akın; visiting faculty member and Istinye Dental Hospital Director Dr. Sevtap İgaç Sebzecili; as well as undergraduate and doctoral students. Held on this special day highlighting the importance of the health management profession, the event contributed to students’ understanding of global healthcare systems and enabled them to comparatively evaluate different educational models. The program concluded with a question-and-answer session followed by mutual exchange of views.
