Our PhD Student's Article Featured in Gazete Bursa!

The article titled "The Relationship Between Gender Inequality and Health Outcomes," written by one of our Health Management PhD Program graduates, Elif AKDEMİREL, was featured in the February 17, 2026 edition of the local newspaper "Gazete Bursa."

A summary of the report is provided below:

Gender inequality is not merely a matter of social justice; it is a "silent pandemic" that shortens life expectancy and severely compromises the health of both women and men. According to Elif Akdemirel's research, while the exclusion of women from education and decision-making processes increases maternal and child mortality as well as the risk of violence, the societal expectations placed on men trigger early deaths linked to risky behaviors and a reluctance to seek healthcare. Ultimately, the gap between the high quality of life in egalitarian countries like Denmark and the low health standards in underdeveloped nations proves that sustainable improvement in health is only possible through holistic equality policies encompassing everything from education to employment.
