To leave a better and more livable world for the future, students of Istinye University developed a new project to contribute to sustainability and to raise awareness among audiences at large. On April 3, 2024, the first phase of a project entitled “Tree of Life” was realized as students of Istinye University visited Darulaceze (the Poorhouse) in Şişli. The project is one of fifteen designed to promote and support sustainability as part of the Youth of the Republic initiative organized by Istinye University’s International Sustainability Application and Research Center. The Center has developed the projects according to the core principles of Istinye University to contribute to the areas of Health, Education, Equality and the Environment. Each project is led by the Center's managers and Istinye University students.
The Visit
In reaching out to the residents of Darulaceze (the Poorhouse), the students connected to the elderly. This special event expanded Istinye University students' sensitivity in the field of social responsibility and emphasized the importance of human interactions in building an aware future.
