The progress achieved during the first six months of 2026 under the Third Five-Year Action Plan and the University’s strategic objectives was evaluated through category presentations and participatory group discussions held as part of the İSÜ BİZ Strategic Forum.
Organized under the coordination of İstinye University’s Vice Rectorate for Strategic Transformation, the İSÜ BİZ Strategic Forum was held on 7-9 July 2026 at the H Block Conference Hall and classrooms.
Designed as an institutional development and strategic evaluation program, the forum aimed to assess the University’s performance results for the January-June 2026 period, examine the practical impact of current initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and develop new intervention measures through stakeholder participation.
Strategic Performance and Current Initiatives Evaluated
The program began with the opening remarks of İstinye University Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş. The progress achieved toward the University’s strategic objectives during the January-June 2026 period was then presented by Prof. Dr. Hatice Gülen.
The forum was organized under the categories of Education and Training, R&D and Innovation, Internationalization, Institutional Transformation, and Social Contribution. The category presentations provided information on current initiatives, ongoing practices, and areas requiring further development.
The presentations for the Education and Training and Social Contribution categories were delivered by Prof. Dr. Peyami Çelikcan. The R&D and Innovation presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr. Bestami Özkaya, the Internationalization presentation by Prof. Dr. Hatice Gülen, and the Institutional Transformation presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Funda Kılıç.
Education Coordinator Prof. Dr. Alper Tunga provided information on course delivery models and the activities carried out by the Education Coordination Office.
Participants Developed Solutions and Intervention Models
Each category session followed a common structure comprising opening remarks, a strategic performance presentation, a category briefing, an intervention and improvement session, and group presentations. Before the group discussions, Quality Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sundu delivered a briefing on the methodology to be followed during the group work.
Following the category briefings, participants began their group discussions within the framework of predefined focus questions. The discussions addressed the strengths of current practices, areas requiring improvement, and the needs encountered during implementation. Participants also evaluated potential solutions, alternative practices, and intervention models.
At the end of the group discussions, a representative selected by each group presented the agreed views and recommendations to the other participants. This process brought together the experiences and perspectives of different academic and administrative units in a shared evaluation environment.
Group Feedback to Guide Strategic Practices
The feedback collected throughout the forum was systematically evaluated by category to identify common needs and priority areas for development. Based on the views expressed during the group discussions, implementation and project proposals supporting the University’s strategic objectives were developed.
Through the İSÜ BİZ Strategic Forum, the strategic planning process was intended to move beyond the assessment of performance results and evolve into a participatory development model in which practical experience, stakeholder views, and proposed solutions are incorporated into decision-making processes.
The evaluations arising from the forum are expected to contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the Third Five-Year Action Plan and further strengthen İstinye University’s commitment to collective insight, continuous improvement, and participatory governance.
