The First Edusıgn & Signedu Meeting Was Held İn Helsinki

2021-1-TR01-KA220-HED-000027580 EDUSIGN&SIGNEDU: The first transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education project named Joint Venture of Curriculum Studies and Artificial Intelligence in Sign Language was held between 24-26 August in Helsinki-Finland.

HUMAK University of Applied Sciences, one of the project partners, hosted the meeting. Project coordinator Dr. Ülkü Kölemen from Istinye University, and researchers Dr. Rahim Sarı, Dr. Leyla Savsar and Research Assistant Gamze Gürlenen attended the meeting from İstinye University. In addition, from HUMAK University of Applied Sciences, the host partner, Associate Professor Dr Paivi Raino from, Lecturers Outi Kuvaja and Liisa Halkosaari; from Stockholm University Prof Dr Johanna Mesch and Dr Magnus Ryttervik and Hasan Dikyuva from the Turkish Confederation of the Deaf, Banu Türkuğur Şahin, Kadir Demir and Öznur Akto from Association of Sign Language Interpreters attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the work done since the beginning of the EDUSIGN & SIGNEDU project was evaluated and discussions were held about the planning of the next work process. International sign language and local sign language interpreters were present at the meeting where comparative evaluations were made on deaf and sign language studies. The details of the multiplier events and organization to be held were planned at the meeting and details of other transnational meetings were also discussed. Our university will host the second transnational meeting in June 2023 and host the project partner researchers.
