Istinye University Business Administration Bachelor's Program
The Istinye University Business Administration Department offers its students a 1-year preparatory program followed by a 4-year undergraduate program. The language of instruction is English. In line with the university's mission, the Business Administration Department aims to cultivate team members, managers, and entrepreneurs who possess the skills and competencies needed in the business world, have internalized ethical and moral values, are socially responsible, self-improving, and open to innovation, through collaborations with stakeholders in the business ecosystem.
Program Benefits
In today's VUCA-defined world, one of the most important resources for businesses to create value and gain a competitive advantage is human capital equipped with the right skills and competencies.
With this understanding, the Business Administration Department offers its students, in addition to their academic education, opportunities for professional practice, the chance to experience different cultures through the Erasmus+ Program, the "Leader Student" Program, and opportunities to develop their intellectual and social capital through industry meetings and seminars.
Our curriculum, which combines theory, sectoral examples, and applications, provides students with knowledge of business management and a holistic perspective. Students have the opportunity to pursue education aligned with their interests and choices through a wide range of courses, including marketing, management, finance, accounting, human resources, information technology and programming languages, law, sociology, psychology, philosophy, and art.
The curriculum in our department prepares our students for business life, with courses covering the main business disciplines, including management and organization, marketing, accounting and finance, human resources management, production and operations management, and information systems and analytics. Through minor or double-major opportunities, our students can develop the ability to interpret, manage, and use data effectively in decision-making; they can also deepen their knowledge across disciplines in line with their interests.
With the Professional Practice course included in the Business Administration Department, our students have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in practice; they also have the chance to expand their professional connections and social networks, which will be necessary for them in the near future.
Furthermore, student clubs at our university support skills such as teamwork, leadership, and effective time and resource management. Thus, our students acquire new knowledge and skills through different channels during their education.
Job Opportunities for Graduates
While business administration is a field of study, it is not one of the professions that first come to mind for the general public, such as doctors, pharmacists, lawyers, or architects. Therefore, candidates who want to enter the business administration department often ask the question, "What do business administration graduates do?" As the name suggests, the Business Administration Department is business-oriented; rather than the macro perspective of economics departments, it focuses on the management of the social and technical micro-structures of businesses.
Our graduates, who effectively utilize the opportunities offered by the department, can take on management and departmental roles in private institutions and organizations, and assume responsibility as team leaders in various departments of businesses. By fulfilling the exams and procedures required by the relevant institutions, they can pursue professions such as accounting and auditing; they can work as bureaucrats or civil servants in public institutions that require a degree from a Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences/Social Sciences, provided they pass the necessary exams.
Our graduates can also start their own businesses; they can continue their academic education and progress towards becoming scientists by specializing in their areas of interest through master's and doctoral programs. Thus, they possess a flexible and strong foundation that allows them to pursue different career paths at both national and international levels.
