The 'Gokcen UAV' Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Team, under the Istinye University Quantum Dynamics Club, demonstrated a successful performance at the TEKNOFEST 2023 International Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Competition.
The importance of quickly supplying health materials in the recent major earthquake disaster in our country and the issue of health logistics were influential in our UAV team's selection of this challenging mission.
Our team successfully completed the "Mission Video" phase and qualified for the finals, demonstrating the ability to take off with the Gokcen PT-2 UAV at the Bursa Yunuseli Airport between April 25-29, 2023. The UAV specially produced for the competition was designed for the "Logistics in Health" mission. In this mission, right after the manual takeoff, UAV performed autonomous turns in the air, identified the letter "H" that represents ‘the hospital’ on the ground, and landed at the nearest airport.
Following the outstanding performance, ISU representative team qualified for the finals in the competition, which saw the participation of approximately 2,000 university teams.
